Fishers Lantern for the Arts

At the hub of downtown Fishers, an architectural beacon lights up the urban space. During the day, visitors are attracted to multitude of programmatic activities. The new Fishers Performing and Visual Arts Center design encourages community interaction by positioning the major programs, performance and visual art, within close proximity to the major gathering space. This enables a break out space for both activities. The design extends beyond the minimum requirements by offering practice space for aspiring musicians, a bistro for hungry visitors, and a rooftop patio for outdoor events. As a tribute to our environment, the design incorporates sustainable techniques. Rooftop gardens populate the south side of the building while the rest of the roofs direct rainwater into catchment systems. These both help reduce the amount of water that flows directly into the sewer. The design aims to cohesively integrate qualities of sustainability, urbanization, and community into a program focused on art.
